Tioga HS Junior/Senior Parents and Students,

We will have our Junior/Senior Prom on Saturday, April 6 from 8:00 PM to Midnight.  The Prom will be held at the Lake Kiowa Lodge in Lake Kiowa and the address is 905 Kiowa Drive West. Tickets are $25.00 each and will be sold at lunch and in the front office, starting in two weeks.

Prom is considered a formal event and is a special night for students. We want the event to be memorable and safe for all students.  The junior class will provide beverages and a dessert buffet for the students to enjoy and there will be a photographer for pictures.  Your student may bring a date to Prom from Tioga ISD grades 9-12 without requiring office approval.  If your student plans to bring a date from another school, a Guest Permission Form will need to be completed for approval.  Students and their dates are not allowed to reenter the Prom facility after leaving. Because Prom is a formal event, there is a required dress code. Any student not appropriately dressed will be turned away at the door.  The dress code is as follows:

Ladies:

  • Dresses may be strapless (if they fit properly) or include spaghetti straps.
  • Dresses may be backless, as long as they are not cut below the naval.
  • 2-piece dresses MUST overlap at the waist: meaning top MUST overlap with skirt waistband.
  • Midriffs will not be exposed. This includes both front and side. With arms down at your side, if flesh touches flesh, the dress is inappropriate.
  • Dresses may not have a slit that exceeds mid-thigh. This is fingertip length.
  • Dresses may not be cut below the bust line.
  • Undergarments should not be visible. See-through apparel is not permitted.
  • Garments that are tight or low-cut are also unacceptable.
  • No cover-ups (scarves, shawls, sweaters) will be allowed over dresses that do not meet dress code.

Gentlemen:

You are expected to wear formal attire. Formal prom attire may be classified as a tuxedo or dress suit, including a tie or bow tie, a dress shirt, which may include a vest or cummerbund, and dress shoes. Pressed and starched jeans may be worn instead of dress pants. Shirts are to be worn at all times.

Best Regards,

Tioga Junior Class Sponsors
