Hello Tioga Bulldogs!

We are off to a great start with a “Recognized” rating from the Texas Education Agency.  That means students, parents, and teachers have all been working extremely hard.  The staff at Tioga ISD anticipates another exciting and successful school year and wish to thank everyone for the great success of the “Meet the Teacher Night.”  Many of you enjoyed the chance to introduce yourselves, see the classrooms, and get lockers organized.

The school is in the process of converting to a new computer reporting system called RSCCC.  It will have a “Parent Portal” available that will allow parents and guardians to view attendance and grades.  Our region center is working intently to get the system on-line and make it a secure site.  Student Island is a web-based program that will be used at school again this year and can be accessed from home.  Students can log on form any computer with internet access and work on skills in math, reading, science, and social studies.  Many students enjoy competing to get their names listed on the high score recognition page.

Many events are coming up during the next few weeks.  The Boy Scout commander will be here on Sept. 3 to do a presentation for our boys and kick off their enrollment drive.  Middle school students are campaigning to become student council officers.  Constitution Day will be observed during the week of Sept. 17.  Texas mandates our social studies teachers to incorporate the study of the rights and freedoms our constitution protects for all Americans during this week each year.  The first six weeks reporting period will end on Oct. 3.  All Middle School report cards will be mailed home each six weeks.  Progress notes for 5th -8th grades will be mailed if the student has any grade lower than 76.  Others will have their progress notes handed to them to bring home.  All elementary students, PK-4th will have their progress notes and report cards sent home with them.  Parents, please sign these and return them to school as soon as possible and feel free to contact teachers if you have any concerns.

Are you ready to play?  Both the volleyball season and the football season are in full swing.  Be sure to check the schedule for times and places for the games.  Please come to as many as you can to support our teams!

Education is one of the most important, enduring, and on-going enterprises we can participate in.  Working together we can prepare the students of Tioga to face their future with the knowledge, skills, and character they will need.  Go Bulldogs!!
